What to expect at an AA meeting in Bali
You can expect a friendly, informal environment and a room full of people who understand why you came. There is no application, appointment, or need to have the right words. Choose a meeting, arrive, and take a seat.
People from every walk of life
Bali meetings bring together people from all over the world and in every stage of sobriety. Digital nomads, entrepreneurs, retirees, wanderers, travellers, white-collar and blue-collar workers, FIFO workers, long-term residents and people here for a short stay all gather around the same table. Our lives may look different, but we share diverse stories about overcoming the same struggle.
What happens in the room
We read from the book, talk honestly about recovery, and share our experience, strength and hope. You may hear laughter as well as difficult stories. You are welcome to listen; nobody will force you to speak. What is shared in the room stays in the room.
Spiritual, not religious
AA is a spiritual, not religious, program. Members find their own understanding of a power greater than themselves. The focus is practical: helping others, finding meaning and purpose, and building a sober life grounded in connection.
We have fun in recovery
Fellowship continues outside the meeting room. Members organise padel tournaments, hikes, runs, day trips, weekends away, camping and holidays. We make friends, show up for one another, and discover that staying sober can include adventure, laughter and a genuinely good life.
